Ruby Princess – Venice….
On the second day of our 12-day cruise, we again spent the day anchored in Venice. Prior to our evening departure, we explored Academia and Dorsoduro. I enjoy walking in the Academia/Dosoduro neighborhoods as you are detached from the crowded, more touristy sections of Venice. We also had a special invite from the Hotel Cipriani. You can read about our wonderful visit here!
After a wonderful lunch at the Hotel Cipriani, we walked back through the heart of Venice. As the day waned, we boarded the Ruby Princess shuttle boat at Piazza San Marco and headed back to the ship.
As the sun started to set over the island, we slowly pulled away from the Venice docks. Due to imminent changes in the paths of larger cruise ships, our ship might have been one of the last to cruise OUT THROUGH the Giudecca Canal. We stood on our balcony, high above the city, and got these incredible photos.
