The St. Regis Moscow Nikolskaya

On our recent trip to Moscow, I was fortunate to stay at The St. Regis Moscow Nikolskaya, a complex of historical buildings blended together to form a luxurious 5-star hotel. As you would expect with a St. Regis hotel, the service was over-the-top!

I had an enjoyable stay in a hotel that is centrally located and near The Kremlin and Red Square. Having not been to Moscow before, this hotel proved an excellent starting point for exploring the city. It’s located at the corner of Nikolskaya Street, Lubyanka Square, Maly Cherkassky Lane and Bolshoi Cherkassky Lane… and adjacent to the Lubyanka Metro station.

Special Thanks to Alyona Monakhova, the Assistant Director of Sales, for taking us all through the hotel and answering our many questions. And to General Manager Hiren Prabhakar for making us feel welcome throughout our stay.

The hotel offers many different rooming options. There are 77 Superior Rooms with an average size of 30-35 sqm. I stayed in a Deluxe Room overlooking Nikolskaya Street. The hotel has 89 Deluxe Rooms, and they are slightly larger, at 35-43 sqm.

The St. Regis Suites offer an extended seating area with an armchair and sofa, a direct dial satellite phone, and are about 55 sqm. There are only nine St. Regis Suites in this hotel.

There are 33 Astor Suites in the hotel. These rooms are large, at 75 sqm and include a king-sized bed, a sitting area with armchairs, sofa, identical TV and a work area. There’s also an additional powder room in the Astor Suites. There is also a Presidential Suite and a Royal Suite.

All of the rooms in the hotel feature the High-end technology you would expect in a 21st century hotel and the Complimentary St. Regis Butler Service. Whether you need a pressed garment, an in-room beverage service, or the packing or unpacking services, the St. Regis Butler service exemplifies the service standards in this – and other – St. Regis hotels. No request is too small no matter what time of day.

As you can see from the photos, the rooms are modern yet with classic touches – like the Belle Époque appointments (a tribute to local history) – and in brown and beige tones. The Suites tend to have more vibrant colors. There are MANY options to connect rooms, and with a suite involved you can have an impressive 2-BDR combination.

The Iridium SPA is exclusive to St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. The SPA is elegant, inviting, and relaxing. There is an online SPA menu available that you can download and thus coordinate your SPA treatments in advance. Treatments are customized to your preferences… and like you wold expect in a St. Regis… service is stellar!

There is also a well-equipped fitness center which overlooks the pool. You also have access to a steam room and sauna! After a long day of sight-seeing, the SPA is a relaxing and welcoming environment.

This is an excellent starting point for visitors to Moscow. It is convenient to The Kremlin, Red Square and the GUM department store… but far enough away (600 meters) that you are not caught up in the tourist traffic. A great start to our time in Russia. We would be pleased to coordinate your booking at this fine hotel.
